Olympus CKX53 Inverted Microscope with Led Illumination

About

The Olympus CKX53 is a compact, high-performance inverted microscope designed for routine cell culture observation, live-cell imaging, and fluorescence studies. It features an integrated trinocular tube with widefield 10x/22 mm eyepieces & equipped with LED illumination and a stable optical system supporting magnifications from 2X to 40X, it delivers exceptional clarity for both bright-field and fluorescence imaging. The system provides a wide, clear field of view, enabled by the PLN 2X objective which has a 22 mm field number and an 11 mm diameter view, making it especially useful for scanning large culture vessels like multi-well plates. For phase contrast imaging, it uses Olympus’s iPC (Integrated Phase Contrast) system which provides uniform contrast across 4×, 10×, 20×, and 40× objectives. It also supports IVC (Inversion Contrast) imaging, enabling 3D-like views without halos.

The microscope’s stage is extremely flexible: it can host a wide variety of culture vessels, including flasks, Petri dishes, and multi-well plates up to 190 mm in height, making it ideal for cell biology, microfluidics, and bio-engineering applications. The focusing mechanism has a stroke of 20 mm, allowing for large adjustments, and fine control at 0.2 mm per rotation. A high-resolution Magnus MU 2.0 MP CMOS camera equipped with a Sony Exmor sensor, suitable for bright-field and fluorescence imaging with high-speed data transfer via USB 3.0. The fluorescence attachment includes reflected-light fluorescence illumination with blue and green excitation filter sets, field stop, and a mercury burner lamp house with dedicated power supply.
