The Foundation of Engineering Excellence

Founded in 2001, the Department of Science and Humanities has evolved into a premier centre for academic growth. We provide the essential foundation in science and language that every engineer needs to succeed in today's rapidly changing world.

Our Expert Team

The department is powered by a dedicated team of highly qualified educators and staff who bring a mix of deep experience and fresh ideas to the classroom.

  • Elite Academic Standards: We are proud that all 80 faculty members in our department hold Ph.D. degree, ensuring high-level expertise in every classroom.
  • Subject Specialists: Our teachers are experts in the latest trends in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English, making significant contributions to global research.
  • Modern Pedagogy: Our facilitators regularly attend Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) to ensure the knowledge shared with students is always new and industry-relevant.

Our Main Goal

Our mission is to provide every student with a solid foundation in the basic sciences and English. This strong start prepares them for the complex challenges of advanced engineering. We believe our true strength lies in combining deep academic knowledge with a culture of teamwork and commitment.

Innovative & Integrated Learning

We believe in learning by doing. Our curriculum is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice:

  • Integrated Science: All courses in Physics and Chemistry are fully integrated with practical laboratory work.
  • Tech-Driven Mathematics: Advanced math courses, such as Statistics, Numerical Methods, and Probability & Queueing Models, are integrated using Python to give students modern computational skills.

Modern Laboratories & Resources

We provide spacious, fully equipped facilities that support the needs of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  • Specialized Labs: Dedicated spaces for Physics, Chemistry, and Communication Skills featuring high-quality, modern equipment.
  • Research & Projects: These labs serve as a hub for practical experiments and final-year student projects.
  • In-House Library: A curated collection of the latest textbooks and digital resources is available to all students and faculty for research and exam preparation.

Career & Skills Training

We go beyond the classroom to prepare students for the professional world through systematic Employability Training:

  • Practical Skills: Focused practice in group discussions, public speaking, and interview techniques.
  • Industry Exposure: We regularly organize guest lectures, industrial visits, and in-plant training to give students a real-world perspective on the engineering industry.
  • Transdisciplinary Excellence: To develop versatile global citizens, we offer a diverse range of elective courses that go beyond engineering:
    • Global Languages: Optional training in German, Japanese, and French to enhance international career opportunities.
    • Holistic Growth: Courses in Yoga, Theatre Arts, and Design Thinking to foster mental well-being, creativity, and innovative problem-solving.
    • Social Responsibility: Active participation in NCC, NSS, and YRC, encouraging leadership, discipline, and a commitment to community service.

A Culture of Research

At our department, teaching and research go hand-in-hand. Our faculty members stay at the forefront of their fields by presenting papers at international conferences and conducting advanced studies.

  • Research Programs: We offer high-level research opportunities in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Proven Success: With 17 recognized supervisors guiding 20 scholars, our department has successfully produced 10 Ph.D. graduates in Science and Humanities.
