ELECTION NOTICE

NOMINATIONS TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF SECAA

FOR THE TERM 2026-2029

Dear Members of the SECAA,

We, Professors Dr Srigitha S Nath & Dr N Balaji, have been approved by the SECAA Executive Committee to be the Returning Officer for Elections to the SECAA Executive Committee 2026-2029.

As the first step in the Election Process, Nominations are invited from the members. Notice is hereby given to the members for the Elections to elect the Members of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE of the SECAA for the term 2026-2029.

The Election Notice is served to elect the following 5 (Five) posts of the Executive Committee as under:

Note: – (i) Women alumni members are encouraged to nominate themselves to contest for the above posts.

(ii) Election intimation will be given through Alumni Webpage / College Website / Available WhatsApp Groups / Registered members in the Alumni Web Portal / An official circular to the Department Alumni Coordinators.

Kindly note that, the positions are purely voluntary / honorary and no remuneration of any kind will be given to the members of the Executive Committee for any reasons whatsoever.

The Election shall be only by OFFLINE process. Those who wish to cast your vote are requested to be present in the SEC campus on 26th JANUARY2026.

The eligibility rules as per the bye-laws of the SECAA will be applicable including the followings.

  • Alumnus, who is working in the Institute at the time of election and is a Regular Member of the SEC, is eligible for the posts of Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer. Alumnus, not working in the institute is not eligible for the above posts.
  • An Alumnus, who is a regular member of the SECAA at the time of election, and is not working in the institute, is eligible for the post of President.

 

NOMINATIONS:

a) The Nomination Form is attached. Please submit your duly filled-up and signed Self-Nomination Form by e-mail as an attachment. The same Nomination Form can also be sent by Post or personally handed over to the SECAA Office on or before 10th JAN 2026.

b) All duly filled-up and signed Nominations may please be sent to the Returning Officer by e-mail to this id only: alumni@saveetha.ac.in

Nominations sent to the SECAA mail id or any other mail id by mistake or oversight or otherwise WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

c) The total write-up in the Nomination Form on “why you should be elected and what you intend to do for the Alumni Association?” should not be more than 2 pages in Times New Roman Font and Font size 12. Longer write-ups will be suitably edited by the Returning Officer.

A member is initially allowed to send nominations for multiple posts. However, before preparation of the final list, one would have to withdraw nominations to multiple posts and contest for one post only. If the nominations for multiple posts are not withdrawn by the deadline i.e., 15th JANUARY 2026, all the multiple nominations will stand DISQUALIFIED. The Schedule for election is given below. Kindly note the dates.

Receipt of Self Nominations: 10th JANUARY 2026

Scrutiny and Announcement of Valid Nominations: 15th JANUARY 2026

Withdrawal of Nominations & Selection of One Post Only: 18th JANUARY 2026

Announcement of Final List of Eligible Candidates: 19th JANUARY 2026

Elections will be held on 26th JANUARY2026.

The Election Result will be announced by the Returning Officer on 26th JANUARY 2026.
