About the Library:
- The Central Library is located on the second floor of the main block, offering a spacious and well-ventilated environment. It is fully computerized and operates using KOHA, an open-source, web-based Library Management System that supports efficient services such as issue, return, and renewal of resources. All library transactions are carried out using Barcode Technology and can be accessed through the Web OPAC online search system.
- Covering an area of approximately 1300 sq.m., the library houses more than 44,375 volumes and 9,450 titles, including a wide range of reference materials to support the academic and research needs of both students and staff. In addition, the library provides access to over 1,000 national and international journals through various reference packages spanning multiple disciplines.
- The library plays a vital role in enhancing academic excellence, comparable to classroom instruction. Students are encouraged to make full use of the available resources and services while adhering to the Library’s Rules and Regulations.
- The Library also holds institutional memberships with Anna University, the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), and DELNET. Continuous addition of titles and volumes across disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Basic Sciences, and Humanities is a regular feature, with acquisitions based on recommendations from the Principal, Heads of Departments, Librarian, and Faculty Members.
- To keep students informed of current events and trends, the library subscribes to a range of newspapers, well-regarded weekly publications, and fortnightly magazines.
- All students, teaching and nonteaching staff of the college are the members of the Library.
- Membership is open to all the staff and the students of the college using the Barcode on their College ID Card.
- Each Registered Member can borrow books and nonbook materials as given below:

- Members can get books from the Library only on producing their Identity Cards issued by the college.
- Books are not transferable. Members are responsible for all the books borrowed on their account.
- Toppers are given two additional books based on their academic performance, which can be utilized by them till the end of university examinations during that semester.
- All members should return all the books at the end of the final year and obtain “No Due Certificate” from the Library. Similarly, staff member who intend to leave the college should return the books, settle all the dues and obtain a “No Due Certificate” from the Library.
- Reference books will not be issued.
- Renewal of book will be permitted, if there are no reservations against the book. For renewal, books have to be presented physically to the Library along with student’s college ID card in person.
- Members before leaving the counter must satisfy themselves as to whether the books which they borrow are in good condition. Any damage should be immediately reported to the Librarian, failing which, the member to whom the book is issued will be held responsible for the said damage.
- Books that are in special demand may be lent out for short period and the book lent out should be returned at any time, if required.
- Absence from the college will not be admitted as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
- Members can reserve the books, which are already issued. The reserved books, after their return, will be kept at the counter for two days for issue to those who have reserved. If they fail to collect the books within two days, the books will be given to the members in the waiting list.
- If the books are not returned to the Library on the due date, the borrower has to pay: Rs.1/- per day for books and Rs. 2/- per day for Project Reports/CDs/Periodicals.
- Loss of books, if any, should be reported to the Librarian immediately and it should be replaced by a new edition of the book with same title and author. In case the borrower is unable to replace the lost books, thrice the cost of book plus overdue charges, will be levied.
- All the members should enter the library entrance using ID cards.
- On no account, personal books, files and other articles (except a small note book/ loose sheets of paper) will be allowed inside the Library. Such books, files and articles should be deposited at the property counter.
- Strict silence should be observed inside the Library.
- Mobile phones should be kept in silent mode.
- Any marking or writing inside the books by the members is strictly prohibited.
- A member shall be held responsible for any damage done by him/her to the book or property.
- Misbehaviour in the Library will lead to the cancellation of membership and also lead to serious disciplinary action.
- In general, the users of the Library are insisted to adhere to the above rules & regulations and realize that the library is a storehouse of wisdom & knowledge and develop the love for learning.

Reference service is provided to users which enable them to reach the required information from the proper documents in time to get success in their research, project work, paper presentation etc.

In addition to the Internet facilities available in the computer lab, facilities are also available in the Library for Internet browsing. Fourteen computers are allotted for this purpose alone.
The members of the Library can use the barcode on their college ID card for quick and easy transaction.
The Library strives hard in serving the users and helping them to get required information within short span of time. The Library has introduced the Current Awareness Service (CAS). Library displays job opportunities, academic-related matters, campus events etc.
A number of guides are available in both reference and issue sections for preparation of competitive exams like GATE, Civil service exams, TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, GRE, RRB, Bank exams etc.
All the library transactions are computerized and OPAC has been introduced to check the availability and the location of books. Separate computer is available for this facility.
