MEMS are made up of components between 1 to 100 micrometres in size (i.e. 0.001 to 0.1 mm), and MEMS devices generally range in size from 20 micrometres (20 millionths of a metre) to a millimetre (i.e. 0.02 to 1.0 mm). They usually consist of a central unit that processes data (the microprocessor) and several components that interact with the surroundings such as micro sensors.

OPTICAL AND MICROWAVE LAB 1 & 2

Research license and 20 user student license of CST Microwave Studio Software-2022 version is installed at the optical and microwave lab 1 & 2. This software is mainly used for designing the antennas, filters, absorbers, low and high frequency devices etc. CST Studio Suite is a high-performance 3D EM analysis software package for designing, analyzing and optimizing electromagnetic (EM) components and systems. Electromagnetic field solvers for applications across the EM spectrum are contained within a single user interface in CST Studio Suite.

It provides fast, automatic meshing, with mesh refinement and automatic adaptation to increase the quality of the mesh in critical parts of the model.

In the CST manual it is mentioned that CST works by discretising maxwell’s integral equation. It is also mentioned that for CST Microwave Studio, it uses central finite difference techniques for time derivatives. In some manual it is mentioned that CST works by using the FDTD technique. CST is based upon Finite Integration in Technique (FIT) and is also popular among antenna designers due to ease in simulations.

ROBOTICS LAB

Ideate, Innovate & Implement

“FOR THE STUDENTS
                           TO THE STUDENTS
                                              BY THE STUDENTS”

Inaugurated in April 2011 by Ms. Chinmayee

Activities of Robotics Club

Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing. These technologies deal with automated machines that can take the place of humans in dangerous environments or manufacturing processes, or resemble humans in appearance, behaviour, and/or cognition. Many of today’s robots are inspired by nature contributing to the field of bio-inspired robotics.
