A seminar on ‘Application of Drone and Lidar in Civil Engineering’ was organized
by the Department of Civil Engineering on 23.08.2025. The resource person for the event
was Er.A.Selvam, General Manager, Land coordiantes technology, chennai. This seminar was
aimed to create awareness about the practical applications of these tools for sustainable
infrastructure development. He emphasized how drones and Lidar enhance accuracy, safety,
and efficiency in surveying, mapping, and project monitoring. The sessions, case studies, and
demonstrations provided participants with valuable practical knowledge. Overall, the seminar
encouraged students to adopt these innovative tools for sustainable and future-ready
engineering practices.
