A Guest Lecture on ‘Smart Urban Flood Management for Resilient Cities’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 29.08.2026. The resource person for the event was Dr. Sakthi Kiran D. R., Design (Senior) Engineer, ECT Infra Solutions Private Limited, Chennai. The lecture provided valuable insights into urban flood challenges, flood-risk assessment, rainfall and spatial data analysis, GIS-based flood mapping, and hydraulic modelling. Participants gained a deeper understanding of real-time urban flood management practices, flood simulation, vulnerable area identification, and practical mitigation strategies for developing resilient cities.
